Hate is a strong word. Jesus tells us throughout the Gospels that we should love one another, even our enemies. That's a tough one! I have struggled many times with feelings of hate. As an abuse survivor I'm sure you can imagine the hateful feelings I've had toward my abusers and to myself. I had to learn the power of forgiveness. If you'd like to read about how I did this click here to find out.
"There are six things the Lord hate, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes
a lying tongue
hands that shed innocent blood
a heart that devises wicked schemes
feet that are quick to rush into evil
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among his brothers. Proverbs 6:16-19
Because the Lord hates these we should too. There may be people we don't particularly care for but the Lord says we are to love everyone. We may not agree with people or the way they live or talk or so forth but we are to still love them, not hate them. If you find that you have hateful feelings for someone ask the Lord to help dissolve the feelings. Hate can only lead a person to sin.
